My name is Sally, and I'm completely addicted to stories- whether it be through books, films or television series.
I'm not a teenager but I love reading YA books and my current favourite genres are dystopian, magic, paranormal or fantasy, with some contemporary and historical. But I also read urban fantasy books, and sci-fi (or pretty much anything if you tell me it's good!). However, I do believe that no story is whole without a good romance plot in it, because (to quote Stephenie Meyer here) "love is the best part of any story".

Cover themes- The Red Dress
This is an idea that has been brewing in my mind for a while. It is basically to compare similar book covers and set them to music.
I love pretty book covers. In fact I have bought books- just because I liked the artwork on the cover. But sometimes you can pick up on a familiar theme...
Here is one- The Red Dress!
*I do not own rights to the music- this is a video made for fun.
I've never noticed how annoying these can be, actually! It makes the book seem quite angry. Rumours is one of the ones I initially thought of. Dance of Shadows by Yelena Black also has a red dress (tutu!) but it seems different to the others. Maybe because it's on a white background. Thanks for sharing!
Nice theme! I found another one for you:

Also, My Soul to Take, Illuminate, Masque of the Red Death! I didn't realize red dresses were so popular!

ReplyDeleteI need to pin some of these to my Shades of Red and Grey Pinterest board. I love just staring at covers sometimes.
ReplyDeleteAgreed and I love all of these covers and have read some. Grave Mercy was my fav YA book for 2012! I say yes to the red dress!
