The Time Will Come is a weekly meme hosted by Jodie at
Books For Company, where we can spotlight those books that we've had sitting on our shelves for too long. Books that we really want to read but never seem to get around to. This feature is perfect for me because I've got lots!
I bought
Chime back when it was released in April, and it was top of my reading pile for a while. I think it looks interesting and magical, but it has since slipped down in my list of reading priorities. I wrote out a list today of all the books that I own and never get around to reading because I keep ordering library books and requesting books for review- it was quite a long list! In a couple of weeks I'm going to stay at my Mum's for a week, and I've resolved to only bring with me these books that I own and never get to reading. I'm determined to get some of them read!
Synopsis from Goodreads:
Before Briony's stepmother died, she made sure Briony blamed herself for all the family's hardships. Now Briony has worn her guilt for so long it's become a second skin. She often escapes to the swamp, where she tells stories to the Old Ones, the spirits who haunt the marshes. But only witches can see the Old Ones, and in her village, witches are sentenced to death. Briony lives in fear her secret will be found out, even as she believes she deserves the worst kind of punishment.
Then Eldric comes along with his golden lion eyes and mane of tawny hair. He's as natural as the sun, and treats her as if she's extraordinary. And everything starts to change. As many secrets as Briony has been holding, there are secrets even she doesn't know.
It has a beautiful cover, and the story sounds good too.

I've got a bunch of books I've purchased that I just haven't been able to read. I'm a slow reader so it takes me a few days to get through one book. I purchased this one when it came out as well and it's still on my TBR shelf too. Hope you get to it soon!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good plan to make sure your books get read :) I might have to steal that idea soon
ReplyDeleteI've heard this one is a marmite book - you'll either love it or hate it! Hope you love it! :)
ReplyDeleteThe cover is so eye catching. The story sounds just like my kind of book. I hope you manage to get to read it soon :D

I need to read this book, too! It just sounds so good! But I'm so behind on the YA books! Guess reading is order for everyone :)
ReplyDeleteI was really excited for this book but sadly I couldn't get into it.
ReplyDeleteI think this is either a book you love or hate! Written in a very unique way.
