Sequels!
Ok- I have a really bad habit of reading the first book in the series, loving it, buying the others, and then never getting round to reading them! It's a kind of book 2 block! It seems like once I've had a taster of the series I'm happy and then easily distracted by something else. I really enjoyed the first book, and really want to read the others, but suddenly the rest of the series doesn't seem as interesting as this brand new series I've found! Actually most of the books on my to-read list or wishlist are book 1 of a series. Why do I do this? Wouldn't it make more sense to finish a series and THEN start a new series? I don't know.

Oh, definitely! So often once I've got a taste for an author or series I buy all the books I can find and then don't actually start reading for ages! Like you I've got Girl who Played with Fire waiting to be read but also the final three Vampire Academy books, Night Huntress series, tales of the Sazi, and loads more glaring at me from my TBR pile...
ReplyDeleteHowever, I have actually read Changeless and Blameless in the Parasol Protectorate and I really recommended them. Much fun to be had there! :-)
ReplyDeleteLike you, I have a lot of sequels that need to get read too. They usually take priority over the other things in my TBR pile but it can still be difficult to get to them. I definitely read the entire Wondrous Strange series though. I love it!
ReplyDeleteInteresting post as l am like that. I finished The Body Finder and got Desires of The Dead but l still haven't read it!! l totally know what you mean.
ReplyDeleteAll those series and I haven't read a single one! I don't have your problem because in most cases I will wait until multiple books have been released then buy them all and read them at once, though I do see how I could end up in your position now that I've read so many first in series these past months.
ReplyDeleteYou should give yourself a sequel month, or something, so that you can catch up
